A new era of textile innovation is here, and Ambercycle is leading the charge. The textile industry is witnessing a transformative shift as Los Angeles-based Ambercycle continues to expand its network of strategic partnerships, positioning itself at the forefront of the circular economy revolution. Through a series of groundbreaking collaborations announced in 2025, the company is scaling its innovative cycora® regenerated polyester technology to meet the growing global demand for sustainable textile solutions.
Revolutionary Technology Driving Industry Change
Ambercycle’s proprietary molecular regeneration technology marks a paradigm shift in how the fashion industry approaches textile waste. The company’s flagship product, cycora®, transforms end-of-life textiles into high-quality regenerated polyester that matches the performance characteristics of virgin materials while significantly reducing environmental impact. This breakthrough technology addresses a critical industry challenge: currently, less than 1% of end-of-life textiles are recycled in closed-loop systems.
The cycora® material offers a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to virgin polyester production, making it an attractive solution for brands seeking to meet sustainability targets. The global textile industry churns out over 92 million tons of waste annually, primarily due to overproduction and the rapid turnover of fast fashion. Through advanced molecular separation and purification processes, Ambercycle can recover raw materials from discarded textiles and reconstitute them into premium-grade fibers suitable for a wide range of applications.
Strategic Partnerships Driving Global Scale
Asian Market Expansion
Ambercycle has secured multiple strategic partnerships across Asia to accelerate the adoption of circular materials in key manufacturing hubs. The company’s collaboration with Shenghong Holding Group, ranked 171st in the Fortune Global 500, represents a significant milestone in scaling regenerated filament yarn production.
“As the industry adopts textile-to-textile solutions, cycora is leading the way in delivering materials that meet the demands of global brands,” Jason Tang, General Manager of Shenghong Chemical Fiber New Material, said.
The partnership with Benma, headquartered in Hangzhou and having an annual capacity of over 180,000 tons of polyester, focuses on scaling staple fiber production using cycora materials. Benma’s direct investment in Ambercycle’s scale-up efforts shows the industry’s commitment to transitioning toward circular solutions.
Advanced Manufacturing Collaborations
Ambercycle’s strategic cooperation agreement with Highsun Holding Group (HSCC) marks another significant advancement in textile-to-textile closed-loop recycling systems. The collaboration includes joint recycling fiber market development, end-of-life textile feedstock sourcing, and the creation of industry-wide standards for circular materials.
“At HSCC, we are committed to leading the future of sustainable materials by incorporating cutting-edge recycling technologies into our production processes,” Mei Zhen, Vice President of HSCC, said.
Shay Sethi, Co-founder and CEO of Ambercycle, highlights the transformative potential of these partnerships in achieving industry-wide circularity:
“We are glad to announce our partnership with HSCC, as it represents the new era for circularity. Scaling textile-to-textile solutions requires deep partnerships, innovation, and development of the global apparel value chain to work in harmony with the planet. By partnering with HSCC, we’re establishing a foundational partnership for circular systems to work at scale. This is how we turn circularity from an industry-wide ambition into a global reality,” Sethi said.
Supply Chain Integration
The partnership with MAS Holdings marks a crucial milestone as the first apparel manufacturer to establish an offtake agreement with Ambercycle. This three-year agreement allows MAS to reserve capacity for cycora® materials, directly supporting the company’s goal of deriving its revenue from sustainable products by 2025.
“Together with Ambercycle, MAS is enabling better access to regenerated next-gen material for our customer partners,” Nemanthie Kooragamage, MAS Holdings Director of Group Sustainable Business, said.
Leadership Vision for the Circular Economy
The company’s collaborative approach extends to material innovation partnerships with Zhejiang Huilong New Materials, a leader in dope-dyed polyester yarn production.
“Working with Huilong will allow us to significantly expand our impact, enabling us to meet the growing demand for circular materials in the global fashion industry,” Shay Sethi, Co-founder and CEO of Ambercycle, said
Investment and Commercial Scale
Ambercycle’s growth trajectory is supported by significant investment, including a $10 million investment from Taiwanese polyester manufacturer Shinkong Synthetic Fibers Corporation for the company’s first commercial plant, expected to open in 2026. This investment comes as demand for decarbonized polyester is projected to reach approximately seven million metric tons annually by 2026.
The company has also secured $21.6 million in Series A funding from investors including H&M Co: Lab, Kirkbi, Bestseller’s Invest Fwd, and Zalando, bringing total funding to $27 million. This financial backing enables Ambercycle to develop and scale its technology infrastructure for widespread commercial adoption.
Future Outlook
As the fashion industry grapples with the environmental impact of textile waste, Ambercycle’s expanding network of strategic partnerships positions the company to lead the transition toward a truly circular textile economy. Through collaborations spanning manufacturing, supply chain integration, and technology development, Ambercycle is turning industry-wide ambitions for circularity into a global reality.
The company’s comprehensive approach to partnership development, combined with its proven molecular regeneration technology, creates a foundation for sustainable textile production at the scale necessary to meet growing global demand for circular materials. To date, Ambercycle has diverted 3.5 million pounds of end-of-life textile waste away from landfill, demonstrating the real-world impact of its innovative approach to textile recycling.
